The Animal Sciences Council (Husdjursrådet) is one of the Union’s study councils. The committee’s main task is to review the course evaluations that students complete after each course. The council monitors courses taken by students in Agronomprogrammet djur, Etologi och djurskydd and the Animal Science Master’s program. The study council acts as a link between students and the department.
If you do not want to approach teachers or course coordinators directly, you can always come to us with questions and feedback about your courses! We represent students in meetings with program directors and departmental directors of studies.
Within the council, there is always a Master’s coordinator, a student social officer, and a laboratory animal representative who participates in meetings with SLU’s Laboratory Animal Ethics Committee. As a member of the Animal Sciences Council, you help ensure the quality of education while also gaining insight into what happens “behind the scenes” in your courses. In addition, together with a great group of people, you get to organize activities such as alumni evenings, study visits, and pub events—both important and fun!
