Braxgruppen is a non-profit organisation with Ultuna Studentkår who wants to encourage a connection between students and their programs by selling program specific dungarees and overalls, or as we call them, dungaree-brax and overall-brax, as well as organising “braxy” events.
But what is “braxy”? Braxy is everything comical, crazy and cool. The bream, in swedish called brax, has existed in Fyris crystal clear waters forever and in it’s spirit we proudly wear our braxor. The fish has become a main theme for braxgruppen and reappears in both our logo and in our events. You might be thinking ‘why does it specifically have to be the bream?”. Well, it is like top three coolest fish in Fyris? It even exists in SLU Ultuna’s epic pond below kårhuset.
Braxgruppen organises "fulsittningar" with great vibes, beermiles (not really a mile...), creative sewing hang-outs where we decorate our braxor and have fika as well as bar hopping nights where we visit Uppsala’s different nations, everything a student could wish for. Except for these events the braxor also fit well to wear for excursions, gardening, student related holidays such as Valborg and for when all your pants are in the laundry basket.
Braxgruppen’s board consists of Ordförande, Vice Ordförande, Ekonomiansvarig, Materialförvaltare, Sociala medier-ansvarig, three ledamöter and 9:e ledamot. Together they work to encourage the connection between students and their programs at SLU Ultuna, with the help of student related braxor.
