Ultuna Student Union
Ultuna Student Union is the union for all students at the Faculty of Natural Resources and Agricultural Sciences (NJ), some students at the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine and Animal Science (VH), some students at the Faculty of Landscape Architecture, Horticulture and Crop Production Science (LTV), and some students at the Faculty of Forest Sciences (S). Veterinary students and veterinary nursing students have their own union: the Veterinary Medical Association (VMF).
As a new program student, you will learn more about registration during the introductory 'minion weeks'.
Life at the Union House
The union house is the union's hub. Here, the union board and several of the committees have their offices. There is also a library, meeting rooms, a bar, and a dance floor. During the day, everyone has the opportunity to heat up and eat their lunch here. The union house is an excellent place to hang out if you want to meet new people. There is often a flurry of activity in the building.
In the afternoons and evenings, the union house is often filled with activities. The study councils have meetings, Ultunesaren works on the newspaper, the choirs rehearse in the dance area, FiQ serves coffee and pastries, and BastU enjoys the sauna. This is just a small sample of everything that’s happening!
Student union involvement
As mentioned, the union's activities are built around three areas: academic monitoring, student social issues, and business and global affairs. So, it’s a broad field, and there’s something for everyone. Take the opportunity to get involved during your studies for new experiences, knowledge, and connections – It will give you memories and friends for life!
Organisation
The highest decision-making body is the union meeting. Five regular union meetings are held each year where major issues are decided and union elections (elections for various positions within the union) are held. The union board is the highest executive body of the union. The board consists of 9 positions, of which 3 are full-time positions at the union.
