Graduation is closing in and though May is far away spring will go by faster than we expect. Graduation must of course be celebrated with a ceremony and a banquet, therefore some important dates are now presented to mark down in your calendar. The graduate needs to be a studying member of the student union for the banquette.

Note! It is of course fine to only register for the ceremony or the prom.
- The deadline for the formal verse is one week after registration has closed (21th of April).
- Graduation pubs for both master - and bachelor students will be held on the 24th, 25th and 26th of april
- The tickets for guests will be sold at a first sold, first served basis.
- A graduate can bring up to 3 guests to the ceremony and the prom (these 3 guests do not have to be the same people).

Attire
Dress code for the ball is formal attire. This means tails with a white waistcoat, evening gown, or traditional costume. For a more detailed description, read further down this page.
The graduation ring
If you are studying agronomy, landscape architecture or landscape engineering and are graduating this spring – then it is time for you to contact our goldsmith Stefan Carlsson for your graduation ring. Make sure to contact him in time, he takes orders until April 30th.
Approximate prices for rings:
Agronomy ring, thin band: 10,500 SEK to 11,500 SEK.
Agronomy ring, thick band: 14000 SEK to 15000 SEK.
The last order date to receive the ring by the graduation day is April 30th.
“Verspub”
Shortly before the graduation banquet is held, graduates and their friends gather together for an evening of “verspub”. During the evening graduates will be honored by appearances from loved ones who show some happy moments they experienced together during their student time. The verse can be a slideshow (power point presentation) or a movie/movies combined with stories and it will be held for a maximum of 10 minutes per graduate. “Högtidsvers”/Formal verse
A ceremonial verse is written by family, friends, or classmates. This year, it will not be read aloud during the ceremony but will instead be placed at the graduate's seat during the dinner at Syltan.
The form closes two weeks after the registration for the balls has closed, i.e., on April 21, 2025. The verse can be a maximum of 6 lines long. Link to the form: https://forms.gle/JxYwEAxoGgfgfUW4A

The day of the ceremony and banquette
Graduation ceremony
The graduation day begins with the graduates meeting up at the Student Union to take group photos. After this, everyone will proceed to the auditorium to line up for the procession. It's important to keep your place in the line and not move, so that the order remains correct when you receive your diploma and any rings! A speaker is also usually present to enhance the ceremony. About halfway through the ceremony, there will be a short coffee break with light snacks and coffee. After the ceremony is over, we will exit the auditorium in the same procession order. Outside the auditorium, you will have a brief moment to meet up with your relatives and take some photos with your diploma. Three family members can be guaranteed to attend the ceremony.
Banquet
Dinner starts with pre-dinner drinks at 18dk in the Union house. The seating arrangement will be at the bulletin board on next to the bar. At the bar you will also be given a chance to buy drink tickets for the dinner. The dinner will take place in Syltan. During the dinner, you will sit with your guests and program.
Attire

Tailcoat:
● Black tailcoat and trousers with silk lapels and lampasse.
● White dress shirt
● White waistcoat
● White bow tie
● Black patent leather shoes or well-polished low shoes of the oxford model are recommended
● Black knee-high socks
Evening gown:
● Floor-length gown
● Arms, collar, back, and shoulders can be exposed as desired
● Permissible accessories include long gloves, clutch purse and shawl.
● Ensure that the shoes cover the toes
Academic insignia and medals are welcome. Ribbon for the gown is worn in a bow on the left chest. For tails, the ribbon is worn diagonally over the chest from the right shoulder, over the shirt but under the waistcoat. A ribbon can be bought in the union house during lunchtime.
